WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
Length Check2/2/2014 So, I am really wanting to try something different than my twists. Don't get me wrong, I love my twists, but it's really taking a lot of time to twist my hair, so I want to try something different,. Well, I decided to blow my hair out using low heat. I thought it would be a little easier than twisting, but I was wrong. It took alllllllllllll day! Anyway, I did a quick length check just so you can have an idea of how much my hair has grown since June. Remember, I cut my hair in June of 2013.

I have officially been completely natural for 5 years as of June. I have had many set backs and I am still learning how to take care of my hair. Below is a length check at 5 years. I don't know if I posted it or not, but I cut my hair in February (I think it was February) of this year. I also just cut my hair in the back on Sunday, June 2. Below are before and after pictures.
Hair Update!6/5/2013 I decided to flat iron my hair for my cousin's wedding. Instead of blow drying my hair, I decided to set my hair on rollers and sit under the hair dryer. I was hoping it would make my hair more manageable without using the direct heat of a hand-held hair dryer. The first thing I did was washed and deep conditioned my hair. I used Creme of Nature leave in conditioner to set my hair on the rollers. This is how my hair turned out after I took out the rollers. It really did not turn out the way I was hoping, but it was decent. Below is a pic of my hair after I flat ironed it. Unfortunately, I did not take any pics right after I flat ironed it, so the pic below was taken a few hours afterwards. This was taken right before the wedding. I took it down right before I walked in. Below are pics of the wedding. Length Check1/3/2013 Ok, I have been on a "no heat" hair challenge since December 9, 2011. I know some of you are wondering what in the world does a no heat challenge have to do with a length check? Well, I was suppose to straighten my hair December 9, 2012 to compare the growth, but I didn’t. But, however, I still wanted to do a length comparison to see the growth. Keep in mind, I have had to cut the top and sides several times due to improper care, so there won't be a big difference. I have also trimmed the back several times. I think I have learned some better handling techniques (such as finger detangling, tying my hair down each night, and using products that better moisturize my hair). Anyway, see the comparisons below. *Remember, my hair is flat ironed in the 2011 pics. My hair is curly in the 2012 pics.
